Glorifying the Lord With Our Lives

LifeTeen High School Ministry

Sunday Life Nights

High School Youth Group meets on Sunday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Assumption Gym during the school year. The youth are led by our Core Team of Catholic Adults through an evening of faith development, fellowship, small group discussions, and fun activities. Our youth ministry team is here to:

  • Support the parents as they teach their children to be Disciples
  • Help mentor the youth in their faith through meaningful encounters with the community, prayer, fellowship, and empowerment.

All 9th - 12th graders in Whatcom County are welcome to join us and begin the evening with worship at the 5:00 p.m. Mass. Live out your call to discipleship simply by inviting your friends to come to youth group and experience God through community.

Extra Events

How to get Involved

YOUTH:

Be involved in the youth community. We need your gifts, your humor, your wisdom, your inteligence, your presence in order to have a thriving youth community. Join us for Sunday nights and join us in helping shape the community that you want it to be!

ADULTS:

We first and foremost need your example within our parish communities of what it means to live out a life with Christ at the center. There are many ways to join in supporting our youth:

PRAYER WARRIORS:
This program is about God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the advocate. Without their presence, our ministry would not run. Our prayer warriors supply the spiritual fuel for our programs that it will be a supportive stepping stone in helping the youth say "yes" to Christ's invitation to be loved fully and to imitate that love to be shared with others.

As a prayer warrior we are asking you to:
-make intentional time each week to pray for us
-advocate for youth within our parish (such as getting to know our youth, sharing your faith and asking them about what stood out at Mass or inviting them to Mass, et cetera.)

CORE MEMBERS:
Core members are confirmed adults who are authentic, passionate, and humble disciples of Christ who want to help pass on the beauty of living life knowing that God has created us for greatness; that Christ died for us so that we may truly live. Core members work with the youth minister to plan, prepare, and minister to the high school youth of our parish communities. Core members have the potential to act as spiritual guides and examples of a lived faith.

Great core members are adults who:
-"love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind...and love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-39)
-have a strong prayer life
-strive to live a Christian life with integrity
-value the insight, gifts and presence of the young church
-advocate for youth in the parish and community
-are willing to support and walk with youth on the journey towards developing a personal relationship with the Holy Trinity.

HUNGER HELPERS:
Since Life Teen meets directly after the 5:00 pm Sunday Mass, we start off the night with dinner to feed the body so we can be able to feed the soul without distractions. Each week, we have about 30 students who come to grow as a community, and to grow in our faith.

We need at least 3 people to bring dinner each week. We like to have some sort of entree, side dish and sometimes even dessert! If you love to cook, please consider donating a casserole or side dish sometime! You can drop off the food in the gym at 4:30 and you can either choose to come back around 8:00 pm to pick up your dish, or we can wash it and store it for you to pick up next Sunday before Mass. Please consider donating your time and delicious cooking skills to help us feed our hungry students and core members!

Please feel free to e-mail our youth ministers, JT and April. They love sharing the blessings of serving youth either directly or indirectly! Stay in touch!
